Pigment
Most large manufacturers and brands still use pigment printing because it remains the most economical printing technique. There are three different types of pigment printing and Prima-Tex is capable of doing any:
- Transparent – this may be used to achieve special color effects. A transparent color printed on top of another color will change. This may mean yellow and blue may result to a green color
- Opaque – usually used when printing on dark backgrounds. However, an opaque color on light background can appear embossed or afloat
- Metallic – Prima-Tex can use true metal powders of special mixtures to achieve the same metallic effect.
These three may be mixed.
Advantages
- May be used to either a natural and synthetic fiber
- Produces brighter colors and clearer images
- May be used for dope dyeing for filament yarn
- More economical
- Better yield because of it eliminates washing-off and faster printing
- It presents the fewest problems for the printer of all the coloration processes, with regard to labor costs, equipment and reliability of production.
- Properly produced pigment prints, using selected products, have an unsurpassed fastness to light and good general fastness properties
- Extremely well suited for color resist effects, for example, under azoic and reactive dyes

Wet Reactive for Natural Fabrics
For cotton, wool, nylon and other natural fabrics, natural dyes are used. Instead of the ink sitting on top of the fibers, natural dyes chemically unite with the fabric. Prima-Tex uses proprietary ink formulations keeping colors brighter longer.

Wet Disperse for Synthetic
Prima-Tex can print directly on synthetic fibers through wet disperse. Although dye sublimation is more popularly used on synthetic fibers, wet disperse is used by many clothing brands because the ink penetrates through the other side of the fabric better. While dye sublimation sits near the surface of the fabric resulting to more vivid colors and better details, wet disperse inks penetrates deeper into the fabric. The images become more visible through the others side of the fabric.

Special Techniques
With 30 years of experience, Prima-Tex has proprietary formulations and printing techniques that give our products better quality and outputs.
Metallic Printing
Metallic inks are used to simulate a metal appearance. They are often shiny and brilliant when first printed. Gold, silver and copper are the most common. In the past, they have had the reputation of fading fast but Prima-Tex has access to better and more durable inks and better printing techniques.

Puff
Also known as emboss printing, puff printing can work on either cotton, polyester or blend fabrics. Prima-Tex is one of the longest puff printers in the US. This experiences gives us the mastery over the artistic aspect of puff printing. From standard puff prints, Prima-Tex can use different materials including suede and BlowOut Base (a.k.a. blister for a soft feel). We can also use gel inks to achieve a more transparent look and tinted inks for neon effects.
