Pigment

Most large manufacturers and brands still use pigment printing because it remains the most economical printing technique. There are three different types of pigment printing and Prima-Tex is capable of doing any:

1. Transparent – this may be used to achieve special color effects. A transparent color printed on top of another color will change. This may mean yellow and blue may result to a green color
2. Opaque – usually used when printing on dark backgrounds. However, an opaque color on light background can appear embossed or afloat
3. Metallic – Prima-Tex can use true metal powders of special mixtures to achieve the same metallic effect.

These three may be mixed.

Advantages

• May be used to either a natural and synthetic fiber
• Produces brighter colors and clearer images
• May be used for dope dyeing for filament yarn
• More economical
• Better yield because of it eliminates washing-off and faster printing
• It presents the fewest problems for the printer of all the coloration processes, with regard to labor costs, equipment and reliability of production.
• Properly produced pigment prints, using selected products, have an unsurpassed fastness to light and good general fastness properties
• Extremely well suited for color resist effects, for example, under azoic and reactive dyes
